Meets Guinea’s Minister of International Cooperation and Planning to Discuss Stronger Development and Economic Cooperation

Dr. Badr Abdelatty, Minister of Foreign Affairs, International Cooperation and Egyptians Abroad, met on Sunday, September 6, with Mr. Ismael Nabé, Minister of International Cooperation and Planning of the Republic of Guinea, on the sidelines of the seventh meeting of the Dialogue among Technical Cooperation Agencies of the Member States of the Islamic Development Bank, currently being held in Cairo.
The meeting focused on ways to strengthen bilateral relations between Egypt and Guinea, particularly in the fields of economic, development and investment cooperation.
Minister Abdelatty congratulated his Guinean counterpart on being assigned additional responsibilities related to the Ministry of Development alongside his portfolio of Planning and International Cooperation. He also welcomed the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding between the Egyptian Agency of Partnership for Development and the Guinean Agency for Technical Cooperation.
The minister noted that the memorandum represents an additional step toward strengthening development cooperation and capacity-building between the two agencies. He reaffirmed Egypt’s commitment to continuing its support for Guinea in developing and building the capacities of its national cadres through training programs and courses organized by the Egyptian Agency of Partnership for Development and Al-Azhar Al-Sharif.
Minister Abdelatty also welcomed the inauguration of the Simandou 2040 mining and development project in Guinea, describing it as one of the largest investment and development projects on the African continent.
He expressed Egypt’s aspiration to further expand its economic and investment presence in Guinea and facilitate access for Egyptian products to the Guinean market, particularly pharmaceutical products, during the coming period.
The Egyptian minister reaffirmed Egypt’s readiness to provide Guinea with the necessary expertise and support, particularly in light of the country’s ongoing economic and development transformation associated with this strategic national project.
Egypt is also prepared to cooperate with Guinea in developing water-resource management systems and promoting agricultural investment, in a manner that supports Guinea’s efforts to address food-security challenges, Minister Abdelatty said.
He further emphasized Egypt’s interest in establishing partnerships with the Guinean side in the fields of education, universities, vocational and technical training, contributing to equipping Guinean youth with the skills and expertise needed for the labor market.
