.A major blow for counterfeit drug traffickers: Kafrin customs destroys counterfeit medicines worth over one billion CFA francs

As part of the fight against illicit trafficking and the strengthening of health security, Kafrin customs conducted a large-scale operation to destroy significant quantities of counterfeit medicines, worth over one billion CFA francs. This operation is part of their ongoing campaigns to combat the trade in counterfeit medicines.

Lieutenant Colonel Mohamed Musa Ghais, Chief Customs Inspector and head of the Kafrin department, confirmed this. Serigne Babiker Kin, Governor of the Kafrin region, also confirmed it.

Customs authorities confirmed that this operation is part of efforts to protect public health and reduce the risks associated with substandard medicines, which can pose a direct threat to citizens’ lives. Kafrin Customs also emphasized its commitment to prosecuting smuggling and trafficking networks and taking the necessary legal action against those involved, in order to strengthen market security and safeguard public health.
